With the world at a standstill and borders closed, Chabi Chic is launching its #SAVETHEMEDINA campaign. In Morocco, where crafts employ more than a million people, drawing a significant portion of its dynamism from tourism, the campaign aims to support artisans in the Medina, who have been severely impacted by the economic crisis linked to COVID-19.
Since its inception, Chabi Chic has placed people at the heart of its approach and focused on handcrafting by entrusting the production of its collections to local artisan workshops. Over the years, the Moroccan lifestyle brand has been enriched by these fruitful partnerships; offering its partners valuable levers to serenely grow their business, providing them with knowledge and practices to help them move beyond the informal sector... So many challenges that everyone agrees to take on by joining the #chabifamily.
It is in the name of this shared history that Chabi Chic offers an outlet for its teammates' inventory through its online sales site, a true window onto the Medina. On chabi-chic.com, the Moroccan lifestyle brand invites artisans from the Medina to post around ten of their pieces online, while ensuring logistics without any commission. With an average of 1,000 visitors and 80 orders on the e-commerce site per week, Chabi Chic hopes to give artisans the visibility they've been deprived of and the logistical muscle they lack.
